A question that we frequently receive is "I have an older computer. What version of JMRI can I use on my...?". Well we're going to answer that one once and for all.
JMRI has published a table of their development, but it is hard to find (I average about 60% success and I know what I'm looking to find). Also, it takes some translation to figure out what you can use based on your operating system. So we've taken the time to do the work for you.

To run JMRI you need both the correct version of JMRI code and the correct Java Runtime Environment (JRE). The best place to get the JMRI code is their Download Page. On the left hand side, about halfway down the page is links to every production version of JMRI. For JRE, the best page is their Archive Java Technology Products Download page.
